Cynthia Good is a Washington State Approved Supervisor (LMHC) who is authorized to provide clinical supervision to Associate-level mental health care providers who are seeking independent clinical mental health licensure in Washington state. Clinical supervision helps nurture the professional development of Associate-level mental health care providers who are newly entering the field. Quality clinical supervision addresses a breadth of issues and Associate needs, including exploration of and guidance related to case review, therapeutic modalities, clinical skills, client issues and diagnoses, client and therapist safety, anti-oppressive, multicultural practice, ethical and legal issues, referrals and resources, administrative tasks, personal development, professional development, etc. As a Washington State Approved Supervisor, Cynthia’s overall approach is client centered, strength based, and growth oriented. She has significant experience working with cases involving adult clients, but also has some experience working with children, couples, and families. She currently works exclusively with adult clients who are typically coping with concerns related to depression, anxiety, adjustment, loss and grief, trauma, and abuse.
Cynthia primarily blends EMDR, Ego State Therapy (EST), and clinical hypnosis, with integration of Polyvagal Theory, as well as other modalities such as solution-focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), depending on client needs. She is an EMDR Certified Therapist, EMDR Consultant-in-Training, and holds Certification in Clinical Hypnosis, conferred by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She is also an Ego State Therapy International (ESTI) and Ego State Therapy North America (ESTNA) Certified EST Therapist, as well as a PMH-C Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional. In addition, she is trained in the evidence-based Flash Technique, a therapeutic intervention that supports the processing of distress using EMDR. She specializes in the perinatal and early parenting time period and is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who focuses on lactational psychology. She has decades of experience with cross-cultural living, therapy, and research and regularly works with people who have various cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, beliefs, and life circumstances.
